Five things: Inspiration

1.  “there has not been any time for much more than being present with these children this week. it has a great deal to do with what lessons i am learning in this life. although, just when i think i have a grasp on those very lessons…they seem to turn and become unrecognizable.”  Love This Life via The Rowdy Pea

2.  “People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” (thich nhat hanh)  quoted at djkreutzer which I found by way of Love this life, which I found by way of the Rowdy Pea!  (I love link strings!)  Read the whole post that quoted this, because it is just beautiful!

3.  “I am a perfectionist, and the paralyzing fear of perfectionists is that we are going to do something wrong. What typically happens is that we don’t do anything–then nothing can be wrong with it. I have recently learned to replace the word “perfectionist” with “lazy”. Much more energizing.”  Julie at Hang in there Babywear (she often puts into words what I can only feel and not verbalize. . . so inspiring!).

4.  “But, I’m not perfect. I make lots of mistakes in my art, work, and life. I’m not a perfect mother. I struggle every single day with remaining present with my children, with balancing my own needs and wants as an individual with the often very disparate needs and wants of two children, and the everyday tasks of a household. When I started this blog, stepping out of severe depression, I started it for myself. My intention was to record one beautiful and positive thing about my life each day, when all the days seemed to run together. . . . So, I am beginning again, reminding myself that the blog is for me, for fun, and for remembering that there are small miracles in every single day, not just the days when I have a craft to show off or a fantastic photo to share.”  Grace at Uncommon Grace

5.  “school for me was always a dreaded experience. I knew it could be different. I knew there could be a love and understanding of learning cultivated at a young age that would carry through to collaborative, supportive and inspiring studies as children grew older. We don’t need good test takers and line followers to change and heal the world. We need those capable of individual thought who possess the tools to put ideas into action.”  Heather at Beauty that Moves
