Five Things: April 12th

1. Lyle Lovett Songs in the sunshine, in the back yard, sung by my sweetie.

2. Abby says, “Mama, when we get home, may I please paint this rock?” When we get home she says, “instead of painting my rock, may I please paint my toes?”

2.5 “Mama, your toes would be SOOOO pretty if I painted them too, just like Grandmama!”

3. “Mama, I don’t think this orange-a-tan has a heart! I can’t hear anything!”

4. Ice blocks and food coloring. . . the world’s simplest fun for kids.

5. Cherry blossoms.
We’re stealing away overnight. Tom has events to attend. . . the Dalai Lama and only 299 other people in the audience. Abby will go to grandmama’s, and I will read the trashy novel SOMEONE in Texas gave me! Back on Tuesday.

Just wanted to say hello, and thanks for sharing. Sounds like you guys have had some rocky periods lately (brush with death!) I wish you blessings and patience– the thing I need most as a parent of young children. We have had our majorly down periods as well with unemployment, uninsurance and financial instability (our first 6 years of marriage could be considered a low period, if not seriously low!) The pendulum of life has swung upwards since a year ago, and we are trying not to hold our breath…
