5 Things: Mom-ing
Yes, to mom is now a verb.

Abby takes a picture of her play food.
I must be a bloggin’ mama, because my child now takes pictures of her play kitchen with her play camera. She’s been known to get her play camera to take pictures of her dinner before eating. . . hmmm, wonder where she gets it?

Abby in a firetruck. . . she was there for at least 30 minutes.
As if the Santa Fire Truck wasn’t great enough. . . the Port Angeles Fire Department Axillary (mostly the partners of the firefighters) puts on a pancake breakfast every year. We all eat pancakes and the kids get to hang out with real life firefighters, climb up in the trucks and get pictures taken. It is a huge hit in town. We see most of the families we know there every year. Abby woke up every morning for the week before this event screaming asking, “is today family day pancake breakfast with the firefighters?!”

Strollers out on the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Getting out in the sunshine with a few favorite moms and walking for miles (really. . . like 6 miles) along the water makes being a mom totally worth it!

Mom-ing is the hardest, worst paid, most wonderful job ever.

Being a mom is wonderful!!! You can see your influence on your daughter!!! Congratulations – you sound like an amazing mother!!! (and you are an amazing blogger)!!!
You are indeed an awesome mama and an awesome blogger! From my experience with my new job of Mom-ing, you are definitely right about it being the most rewarding yet worst paying job ever created. We are having the debate around here again about who contributes more, it’s hard to keep perspective sometimes…a lot of times…all the time? It has really made me realize just how materialistic my husband and I are deep down even though we thought we weren’t. I feel a loss of worth because I’m not contributing financially and he feels like he’s doing EVERYTHING because he is the sole financial provider. Like all things with this new phase of life, it’s an adjustment that we have to take the time to grow into. My new mantra: sew, mama, sew! Sew, mama, sew!! (Which will soon be replaced with: sell, mama, sell! Sell, mama, sell!!) Thanks for always being so generous with your view on the world–a trait that Abby is picking up I see!!
Abby is taking after you, taking pictures of everything.
I used to love having tea parties and I actually remember lining the socks and in neat little rows. I wonder where my OCD has gone, I think I miss it!
I loooove that she is photographing her food! Just goes to show that every little thing you do is being noticed…!
