The glass is half FULL darn it!
The dryer busted.
Last night.
We leave on vacation tomorrow.
The clothes did not get dry.
Tom’s Carhartts were in the load.
I’m choosing to see this as an OPPORTUNITY. This is the universe kicking my butt into using that groovy clothesline we have. This is the universe saying, “hey, ya know, the wind is blowing, the sun is out and it’s pretty silly to use electricity to dry your clothes. . . lazy bones!”

So, I put on my apron, filled the pocked with clothes pins and made my way down the line (how VERY domestic of me!). I found all of the clothespins from last summer all withered and covered in spider webs still on the line. So, I put them in a bucket for Abby. She made towers out of them. We’ll do a clothespin drop later, and maybe bust out the paint or markers to make them pretty for her. See, it’s a win-win situation. Abby gets a new toy, I get in the sunshine, the dryer gets a break.

So, really, this is NOT an inconvenience. . this is NOT a pain in my butt (Carrie grits her teeth as she says this). This is my chance to make a small difference for our planet, which will totally get counteracted when we drive for 8 hours tomorrow! We do what we can. Ah, the imperfection of humans!

I’ll be without internet for a while. . . if I get a random signal here or there, I’ll post, otherwise, you’ll see me back here on Friday with another veggie post.

I know I should be feeling empathetic…but I am just jealous! I want a backyard with sunshine and a clothes line! Have a wonderful trip!
Hope you’ll have a fantastic vacation! :)
(We moved into our house in December and all spring we’ve tried to do all our laundry on the weekends so we can hang the clothes to dry outside. Love the smell and feel of clothes that have dried “naturally”.)
I LOVE Abby’s towers..what a good idea. I see she’s living in Grandpapa dress as well. I’m so glad she likes it, it is a “Big girls” dress for sure.
Love MOM
PS if it would ever consider stopping raining I would hang staff our to dry too. You are so groovy!!!
I love hanging my clothes on the line, they smell so fresh
and pure, way to look at the positive
