34 things to do before I’m 35
January 9, 2010
All props to Hula Seventy for the idea. And, yeah, some of these are already planned, so it’s kinda cheating, but I’m starting almost 3 months *after* my birthday, so deal with it.
- Pose kinda nude-ish for a calendar that raises awareness/funds for Breast Cancer Research.
- Eat at Delancey (this has been on my mental list for a long time, so although it’s on Hula Seventy’s list also, it has been on my mind before I even SAW her list).
- Get rid of at least 15% of the things we own.
- Make a photo slide show with music for the blog.
- Find community where I least expect it.
- Make the quilt that I had in mind for the couple that got married in the Summer of 2007.
Get published. . .in actual print.- Go sledding at Hurricane Ridge
- Go to Victoria B.C. for an overnight with the girls.
- Wear loud, somewhat inappropriate outfits to at least 2 functions/gatherings.
- Get pictures taken with Tom and Abby in a photo booth.
- Walk a Half Marathon.
- Shop the bins.
- Go see the roller derby.
- Finish my darn sweater.
- Have Toast at Renaissance.
- Read my camera’s manual cover to cover
- and learn how to take flash pictures without red-eye
- Go hiking at the Elwha Bridge.
Find an example of guerrilla knitting in the wild or do it myself.- Take Abby to a different state or country.
Make a resin ring or pendant.- Go camping with a gaggle of friends and kids.
- Take Abby out to a sushi place with a conveyor belt.
- Make soup from scratch and take some next door.
- Host a blessingway.
- Do something that scares me.
- Make the dang Waldorf doll I’ve had in mind for um, 5 years.
Teach a class in. . . something.- Transform something mundane into something extraordinary.
- Send a letter of appreciation to someone who influenced me.
- Make cheese.
- Organize our files (this is such a mammoth project it already has me sweating).
- Laugh more than I cry.

35. Go on a tour of a chocolate factory.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your list! Especially, since I get to join you on a few goals!
I hear the Theo chocolate factory tour in Seattle is awesome!! I guess this would be more your style:

A fond 1975 memory: Going to the Hershey chocolate factory in Hershey, Pennsylvania. I still remember the smell and getting a free Hershey’s kiss!
Pennsylvania’s kind’ve far away plus the modern Hershey Chocolate World looks a bit over-the-top. Not the sweet little tour I remember from 1975. Here’s a link, FYI. You may want to turn down the sound. The jingle is obnoxious!

What a fantastic list! I’m excited for you. Living with a purpose each day, good stuff.
Theo Chocolate is delish…a friend and I were just minutes late for the tour one year but we still indulged in all their samples in the lobby.
Curious as to what scares you…:)
Love the list, Carrie! I want in on Victoria!
I’ve been dreaming of eating at Delancey for months! Can I join in with you on that one? I could go over to Seattle on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday…
Good list, Lady!
I’ve seen a few lists like this bobbing around lately–good for you for taking the time to put yours on “paper”! I think that would have to be number one on my list: Freaking write it down and get it out of my head
Strangely (though I guess I’m not too surprised…) we have many of the same (or comparable) goals. Except that semi-nudish one. You’re on your own there, good cause or not.
More power to ya! I’ll stick to regular old donations, I think.
Enjoyed your list. It sounds great.;) Ladies night in Victoria?? Interesting!
Hi, just found your site, and have been avidly reading for the last hour! Love your list, especially number 1!!!
My list is here: http://pixiepolly.blogspot.com/p/29-things.html
